About Me

Coming into a career of providing mental health therapy wasn’t a direct route, as initially I sought out the administrative end of Social Work - working with legislative branches or programmatic policies - but soon sought out the human connection in Clinical Social Work. Now almost 20 years later, I continue to get to work with adults, children, teens and families in this wonderful field of mental health therapy.

Given the on-going demand for experienced trauma therapists, I was placed in this specialty as an intern to learn and grow, and thus have been in this niche since 2005. When looking at what trauma therapies “worked” at the time, it was mostly talk based. This is a great approach, but science has added in a new types with the mind-body connection as a central part of therapy, not an add-on. What this looks like is centering our whole experience in life (mind-body-soul) and allowing this type of wisdom to compliment our cognitive or talking styles.

In the therapy room, I enjoy working with people from all walks of life and ages, with concerns ranging from anxiety, trauma, stress or relationship difficulties. My style is warm, direct but always kind, and welcoming people into a non-judgmental space.

For fun outside of the office, you will find me in nature, out with loved ones, trying culinary pursuits and gardenings in all four seasons.
